Halloween Holiday Pt. 1 Derry

Quaker Cottage took the week off last week for Halloween Holiday, which is like a fall break for the schools here.  For the holiday I headed off with Sam to Derry, Galway, and Dublin.

Our first stop was Derry where we stayed with Becca.  Becca sometimes leads tours for work, so she gave us a tour of the city for free 🙂  We walked along the walls, walked through the Fountain Estates, saw the Bogside an its murals, and visited a variety of churches.

The day we spent in Derry was also Halloween.  We celebrated by going to an Irish story telling, which may have been designed for six year olds but we enjoyed it just as much.  Unfortunately we missed the Halloween parade, but we did get to see the fireworks and a lot of fun costumes when we went out that evening.

My only complaint about Derry is that we didn’t get to stay there longer.  I would like to spend some more time at the peace bridge, visit some more museums, and maybe see a play.  That just means that I’ll have to go back!
